Gladys Bowen, age 91 of Fairfield, passed away on October 13, 2016 at her residence. Gladys was born on October 16, 1924 in Campbellsville, KY, the daughter of the late Chester D. and Mary Eve (Phillips) Wise. On March 6, 1943 in Campbellsville, KY she married her husband of 55 years, Leslie Bowen, who preceded her in death on September 15, 1998. Gladys Bowen, age 91 of Fairfield, passed away on October 13, 2016 at her residence. Gladys was born on October 16, 1924 in Campbellsville, KY, the daughter of the late Chester D. and Mary Eve (Phillips) Wise. On March 6, 1943 in Campbellsville, KY she married her husband of 55 years, Leslie Bowen, who preceded her in death on September 15, 1998. Gladys was a member of West Side Baptist Church for 63 years and a member of Washington Chapter O.E.S. She loved bowling and gardening, but most important to her was spending time with her family. Gladys is survived by her children, Phyllis Wilson and her husband James, Richard Bowen and his wife Linda and Pam Bond and her husband Don; grandchildren, Shawn (Craig) Cottrell, Cherie (Al) Hoeweler, Craig (Casey) Hudson, Ricky Bowen, Andy Hudson, Les Bowen, Chrissie (Jeff) Smith and Cary Bond; 15 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Margaret (Sam) Parson. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; grandchildren, Hope and Holly Hudson; and siblings, Albert Wise, Martha Rhynearson, Bessie Whitlock, Ernest Wise, Richard Wise and Floyd Wise. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Hospice of Cincinnati. Visitation will be held from 5pm until 7pm on Monday, October 17, 2016 at Webb Noonan Kidd Funeral Home, Ross Avenue at South "D" Street, Hamilton with an Eastern Star Service at 6:30pm. Funeral Service will be held at 11am on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at West Side Baptist Church, 154 Gordon Avenue, Hamilton with Pastor Richard Rhodus officiating and a Visitation prior to the service from 10am until 11am. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Cincinnati, Inc., P.O. Box 633597, Cincinnati, OH 45263.
